Let’s be honest - life moves far too fast. One day, your kids need your hand to take their first steps, and the next, they’re off and running, leaving you wondering where the time went. It’s a little unfair how quickly time flies, isn’t it? And if you’re anything like most busy parents, family portraits tend to fall to the bottom of the never-ending to-do list. But here’s the thing: keeping your family portraits up-to-date isn’t just about getting a cute picture for the wall (although that’s a definite bonus); it’s about preserving the To View More >>

For as long as I’ve been a photographer/parent, the topic of feeding babies, toddlers, children and teenagers has been a hot one. (If you’ve ever visited me for a Cakesmash session, you’ll know that even given free rein on the cake, some children prefer to take their time rather than dive right in. Some babies won’t eat the cake at all!!. Children go through so many phases, with their tastes changing so frequently that lots of parents prefer to make lunches to take to school when the time comes, so you know your child is being given something that they’ll actually To View More >>

Welcome to the Babies By Jackie Studio! Located in the historic village of Hemingbrough, the studio was once a pig sty (hence the name!). But don't worry there's only one little piggy there now :-) Relax in our cosy sitting area where you can see your baby and they can see you at all times. Chill out on our super comfortable sofa, while I take care of your little one. You can even have forty winks if you like - you won't be the first! The safety of all my clients is paramount at all times. Hand sanitiser is always to hand, and as you can see I am proud of my professional newborn To View More >>

I don't know about you, but I have definitely been feeling the anxiety creeping in, watching the news constantly and desperately trying to keep my family safe, entertained and to not get under each others feet constantly, which got me thinking about how other people must be feeling and coping right now. I can't begin to imagine how worrying a time this must be for expectant parents (it's scary enough having a baby in normal circumstances); for parents of small children trying to juggle work and 24/7 entertainment without childcare or days out; for our amazing key workers who are out there facing To View More >>

It's always a privilege to share in our client's treasured moments, and especially when you get to see them again to capture more of those special memories for them. We photographed Nikii and Peter's wedding a few years ago, so when I heard they were expecting a sibling for little Daniel, I was super excited for them and delighted to photograph Nikii and her beautiful bump. Daniel was excited too and couldn't wait to tell me all about his new baby brother (and his dumper truck!). Here are some of my favourites from their photo session. I have a very natural style with my photography and I love to use natural products wherever possible. Today I have been busy making a very special little something for my newborn photo sessions - fluff! To steal a famous retailer's catchphrase, 'this is not just any fluff ...', this is the first fleece from a very special alpaca. A little while ago, our daughter and I had a little trip out to take an alpaca for a walk with Jacki at Beacon Alpacas. It was a beautiful day and we both really enjoyed meeting these lovely animals. Their fur is incredibly soft, as "it has less scales To View More >>

Wedding fairs are fantastic places to find inspiration and ideas for your wedding planning and they are also the perfect opportunity to meet and talk to potential suppliers. However, they can be quite daunting, especially some of the larger ones, and if you're not careful, you will come home with a huge bag of paper and still feel no closer to any decisions. So, here are some of my tips for getting the most from a wedding fair. Plan ahead - most wedding fairs list the exhibitors on their website beforehand. Check out the websites and make sure you meet with your favourites at the fair. Save time To View More >>
